Eleonora Isunza Gutiérrez

Director Of Operations

Eleonora Isunza is an expert event organizer, troubleshooter, reader of tea leaves and soother of souls who makes sure that everything runs smoothly in our advance planning and in the day-to day life of the residency.

Born and raised in Cuernavaca, Mexico, where she continues to live, she also juggles parallel careers as an environmental activist and as producer of the film festival Cinema Planeta, which she co-founded in 2009 as a platform for ground-breaking documentaries from Mexico and around the world.  In collaboration with other activists, she has established links to kindred festivals in 30 other countries through the Green Film Network, which she also co-founded.

Among her proudest achievements, along with other activists, was passage of a law they helped to write that prohibits single use plastic bags, styrofoam and straws in the State of Morelos and 28 other Mexican states.

For the past two years she has worked as Director of Cultural Promotion for Peace, Attention to Specific Audiences and Heritage at the Secretariat of Culture of Morelos.
