Accommodation
Our designated housing options are described below. All are a short walk from the main square, or zócalo, and near the main workshop venues. Our special rates range from $900 MXN to $$990 MXN/night (roughly $51 to $57 USD depending on fluctuations in the exchange rate) and include breakfast and taxes. Casa Tlacualiztli, a higher end option, is billed in US dollars. All rooms are private, with their own bath, desk and lamp. Most people appreciate the experience of living with fellow Volcanistas, but there are also other housing options in the village, from B&B’s to luxury hotels. We will make every effort to match accepted participants with their first choice of accommodation based on a housing questionnaire that goes out in early fall. Payment options will be provided to accepted participants once your preference has been received.
Casa Tlacualiztli
Our newest housing option is a luxury home on a quiet street ten minutes from the central square. Casa Tlacualiztli offers an array of rooms with king or queen-sized beds, many with terraces or balconies, full private baths in Mexican tile, a small gym, a billiards room, a library and an outdoor swimming pool and jacuzzi. Several workshops will be held here, and group meals on workshop days will be prepared in the house’s spectacular professional kitchen. A simple breakfast will be provided for writers staying here.
