Ayşegül Savaş is the author of the novels Walking on the Ceiling, White on White, and The Anthropologists. Her first non-fiction book, The Wilderness, which examines the mythology surrounding the first forty days after birth, will be published in October, and her story collection Long Distance in Spring 2025. Her fiction appears regularly in the New Yorker and her books have been translated into six languages.
Savaş grew up in London, Copenhagen and Istanbul and studied at Middlebury College. A former UTV fellow and faculty member, she has taught creative writing classes at the Sorbonne, as well as for Catapult. She currently lives in Paris
