I’m Gabriela Damián Miravete and, although I was born in Mexico City, I’m still surprised that on the same day we can have the climate of the four seasons in this valley. I work as a teacher, reader and film and literature journalist. I write essay and narrative, but my great love are stories: I grew up reading anthologies of horror, science fiction and fantasy in which the names of those who wrote were mysterious presences that, when reappearing in another book, made me exclaim: “Hey, I know you!”. When I discovered that several of them were women, I knew that I could also write my own stories, and that I should, driven by that friendly relationship, recover and think collectively on the multiple voice of women and how much we have to tell to the future. I belong to Cúmulo de Tesla, a group in which artists and people of science build bridges between disciplines to discuss knowledge through imagination and creation. I have published in magazines such as Letras Libres, Revista de la Universidad de México o Cine Premiere and in a few anthologies, among them, El silencio de los cuerpos.
