Born in India and raised in Dubai, polymath Anjan Sundaram spent nearly a decade in Africa covering conflicts in Democratic Republic of Congo and Rwanda, reporting with long-form essays in The New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, among others, and resulting in three acclaimed memoirs. A graduate of Yale University with a masters degree in mathematics, he also holds a doctorate in journalism from the University of East Anglia.
Anjan Sundaram has recently shifted his focus to Mexico, where he continues to see himself as a war correspondent, reporting from what he considers a frontline in the battle to preserve indigenous resources and culture in the face of the hegemonic forces determined to destroy them.
