Fiction with Sheree Renée Thomas
I’m a Bengali Dalit speculative fiction writer and editor born and raised in Kolkata, India, and currently residing in New York City. I belong to the first wave of Dalit Futurists in English-language fiction, and am the first author from India to be nominated for the Hugo and Nebula Awards. My fiction and commentary have been published in The Gollancz Book of South Asian SF, The Blaft Book of Anti-Caste SF, The Hindustan Times, Words without Borders, Strange Horizons Magazine, Nightmare Magazine and the Rubin Museum’s Spiral Magazine, among others, and have been translated into Bengali, Hindi, Malayalam, German, Polish and Mandarin.
I have three masters degrees from three continents, two tattoos in ancient languages, the spice tolerance of a five-year-old, and am an average but indomitable bachata dancer.
