Summer Intern 2023
Emely Mendez is a native New Yorker whose parents are Mexican immigrants. Mixing her passions in science and public health, she is a rising sophomore at Columbia University studying biochemistry with a pre-medical track. Her interest in climate change has also led to an internship at the Columbia Climate School. Whether studying for her classes and reading books from the famous common core or gaining clinical experience at Mount Sinai Hospital and the Harlem Center for Aesthetic Dentistry, she is pretty busy! In her free time, she enjoys studying the Náhuatl language.
