I’m a Mexican investigative journalist driven by an insatiable curiosity—a need to question, learn, and understand what lies beneath the surface. This innate desire to know sparked my journey into journalism seven years ago when I began my studies at the Escuela de Periodismo Carlos Septién García. Over time, it evolved into a fervent dedication. For nearly four years, I have been working as an investigative journalist, honing my craft by combining traditional investigative techniques with modern tools. I am proud to be a fellow of the first cohort of GIJN’s Digital Threats course, which led to my participation as a panelist in the workshop “Técnicas para Investigar Amenazas Digitales” at the 15th edition of COLPIN.
My passion for deciphering complexities has led me to analyze extensive datasets, scrutinize contracts and corporate filings, and piece together patterns from seemingly unrelated fragments of information. While much of this work has focused on domestic documents, I have also incorporated the analysis of international records into my methodology.
When I’m not immersed in the intricacies of an investigation, I find solace and inspiration in solving challenges—whether piecing together jigsaws, diving into books, or refining my programming skills to better incorporate them into my work. I also enjoy playing video games and rewatching TV series or movies as a way to recharge. These pursuits remind me that every challenge, no matter how complex, holds the promise of clarity.
Soy un periodista de investigación mexicano impulsado por una curiosidad insaciable —una necesidad de cuestionar, aprender y entender lo que yace bajo la superficie. Esta curiosidad innata de conocer más, marcó el inicio de mi camino en el periodismo hace siete años, cuando comencé mis estudios en la Escuela de Periodismo Carlos Septién García. Con el tiempo, esta inquietud ha evolucionado en una ferviente dedicación.
Desde hace cuatro años me he dedicado al periodismo de investigación, combinando técnicas tradicionales con herramientas modernas. Me enorgullece haber sido parte de la primera generación del curso Digital Threats del GIJN, una experiencia que me llevó a participar como panelista en el taller ‘Técnicas para Investigar Amenazas Digitales’ en la 15ª edición de la COLPIN.
Mi pasión por desentrañar temas complejos me ha llevado a analizar extensos conjuntos de datos, examinar contratos y documentos mercantiles, y revelar patrones a partir de fragmentos aparentemente sin conexión. Si bien gran parte de mi trabajo se ha centrado en documentos nacionales, también he incorporado el análisis de registros globales como parte de mi metodología.
