Under the Volcano is pleased to offer an exclusive portfolio of books, art and vacation rentals whose profits directly benefit our scholarship fund. Payment may be made via PayPal, direct deposit or check. Buyers are responsible for the cost of shipping photographs or works of art.
Your gallery purchases and rentals enable us to subsidize more than half the participants in Under the Volcano’s master classes in fiction, poetry, memoir and journalism. The diverse experience of gifted writers from across the United States and Mexico and from countries around the world makes our program a true international community.
Under the Volcano’s portfolio of art and photography offers you the opportunity to acquire signed, original works by leading contemporary artists who care deeply about the written word and understand the importance of supporting young writers at a crucial time in their careers. We are honored that they have chosen to share their work with us and to split the proceeds of sales to benefit our scholarship fund.
Our partnership with visual artists is constantly evolving. Please check back frequently to see new work on offer.

Under the Volcano’s exclusive weeklong vacation packages give you a home of your own in the legendary village of Tepoztlán, just over an hour from Mexico City in the foothills of the great volcanoes. A world unto itself with thriving pre-Hispanic traditions, a 13th century pyramid atop the sacred mountain, a 16th century UNESCO World Heritage church and a bustling daily market, Tepoztlán is also a perfect base for exploring nearby Cuernavaca, the colonial silver town of Taxco, the pottery village of Tlayacapan or the citadel of Xochicalco, all within an hour’s drive and suitable for day trips.
Conditions and prices on these beautiful houses vary, so once you’ve made your selection, be sure to email us for a connection to the owners of the property you wish to rent.
