Rosa Beltrán is the author of eight books including novels and short story
collections, many of them translated into multiple languages, and is in the midst
of a distinguished career that includes stints as a journalist, ample reach as a
critic and essayist and organizer of the important annual literary festival Fiesta
del Libro y la Rosa in Mexico City. She received a degree in Hispanic letters from
the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de (UNAM), where she is currently head of
the literature department, and earned her doctorate in comparative literature from
University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). She hosts a weekly television
show called "Contraseñas" on Mexico’s channel 22, in which she engages in
conversations with leading writers. Since 2014 she has held seat 306 of the
Academia Mexicana de la Lengua.
